The former Joan Brannan was born March 16, 1925 in Harper’s Ferry to the late John and Anna (Healy) Brannan. She married Linus Mullarkey in Harper’s Ferry October 1, 1946. Currently a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam, she was a long-time member of Holy Family Parish in Whitefish Bay and St. Mary’s in Mayville. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her husband, Linus, also enjoyed a long-anticipated retirement trip to New York City and the New England states. Joan was an excellent gardener, and was always caring for a thriving outdoor garden of colorful flowers or a large collection of indoor plant varieties. Joan enjoyed the company of her dachshunds, and had one at her side, or nearby, for almost 50 years. Joan appreciated and her family is grateful for the extensive and loving care provided by the staff at the Prairie Ridge Memory Care Unit in Waupun and by the staff of Heartland Hospice during her final days.
