Keith Miene

Keith David Miene, the son of Willard and Karla (Smith) Miene, was born September 15, 1968 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, Iowa. He died Saturday, January 13, 1996 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was 27 years old.

He was baptized October 27, 1968 by the Reverend Lenwood L. Monte at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, and confirmed there April 29, 1984 by the Reverend Julius L. Peterson. Keith graduated from Postville Community School in 1987.

Following his graduation, Keith moved to Cedar Rapids and was employed at "Stanley Steamer". Keith also worked part-time at the General Mills Company in Cedar Rapids. At the time of his death, Keith was employed as a security guard for the Merril Agency at the Cargill Company in Cedar Rapids.

Keith enjoyed spending time with is family and friends, going to concerts, playing cards and bingo. He especially liked to attend sporting events and was a loyal Vikings fan. Keith was past president of the Reba McEntire Fan Club of Iowa, and was presently serving as the President of the Faith Hill Fan Club of Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Frances Miene and maternal grandfather, Reidar Smith.

Surviving are his parents, Willard and Karla Miene of Luana; his girlfriend, Shelli Fleck of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Cindy and husband, Gene Suhr and their children, Tina and Joseph, all of Aurelia, Iowa, and Kay and husband, Randy Imoehl and their son, Tanner, all of West Union; a brother, Kurt Miene and wife, Kris and their daughter, Taylor, also of West Union, and his maternal grandmother, Nellie Smith of Cresco, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 16, 1996 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Rev. Wayne H. Hagen officiated. Rev. Charles Miller was the visiting pastor. Organist Joann Martins accompanied the special music provided by Keith and Dixie Kutzbach. Casket bearers were Eric Johnson, Tony Carter, George Ratliff, Deon Day, Dallas Weaver, Scott Adam, Brian Livingood, Matt Colsch, Mike Einck and Craig Adam.
