Otto Ney's Last Rites Held Here

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 1, for Otto Ney, 86, who died at Spring Grove, Minnesota on January 28. He had recently moved from his home at the north edge of Lansing to the farm home of Tom Tollefsrud near Spring Grove.
He was born in French Creek township on January 31, 1888, to John and Bertha Winegar Ney. He was married to Jessamine Perdy of Waukon. They were the parents of a son, Edward, now of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a daughter, Mrs. Myron (Nancy) Braun, who lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Other survivors are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Otto was a representative of the Curtis Publishing Company for many years, retiring in Lansing about 23 years ago. A talented artist, many persons who visited the Lansing Repair Shop while the late Abner Eckberg was owner saw his "Foxer" series of drawings which portrayed Reynard in a dozen or more poses before the chicken coop.
Officiating at the rites, held at the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, was Tom Tollefsrud.
Pallbearers were Alton Kolsrud, Harold Van Brocklin, Edward Ney, Karl Braun, William Ney, and Judy Galt, a granddaughter.
