Phillip Jerome Liddiard 1942-2010

Phillip Jerome Liddiard of Waukon, age 68, passed away June 18, 2010 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Visitation will be at Hanson Funeral Home in Waukon from 3-9 p.m. Friday, June 25.
Phillip was born February 2, 1942 in Waukon, the son of Francis and Lena (Brecht) Liddiard. His mother passed away when Phillip was two years old. Phillip and his sister then spent some years staying with the Johnny Ryan family. He attended St. Patrick School in Waukon. He enjoyed hunting with his father, who passed away when Phillip was 15 years old. Phillip was a member of the United States Army Reserve.
Phillip married Joanne O’Regan December 26, 1964 at St. Mary’s Church in Hanover. Phillip was a farmer, raising beef cattle, hogs and crops. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and also served on the Allamakee County Fair Board. He enjoyed coon hunting with his sons, country music, watching western shows and playing cards. He also enjoyed visits from friends he met in the Army Reserve, and he was proud of his children’s accomplishments.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Joanne Liddiard; his children, Fran (Jennifer) of Waukon, Jane (Aaron) of Cuba, MO, Larry (Christine) of Marion, Susan (Christopher) of Colorado Springs, CO, Denise of Chicago, IL and Ted of Prairie du Chien, WI; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, LaVonne Corrigan; and a stillborn son.
Casket bearers will be his nephews.
