Funeral services for Mrs. Luella Mae Shattuck were held on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. from First Presbyterian Church, Waukon, of which she was a member with the Rev. Wm. J. Tjaden and the Rev. William Sherman, Ellsworth, Wis., a nephew officiating. Mrs. Shattuck passed away April 19 at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital. She fractured a hip in May, 1966, which has caused bed confinement since, and she has been a resident of nursing homes for about two years.
Luella Shattuck was born September 11, 1888, a daughter of August and Markley Fiet at Waukon and she had lived here all of her live. She was married on February 14, 1921 to Luman Shattuck and they lived on a farm near Waukon. Mr. Shattuck passed away a few years ago. Surviving are a son Robert Shattuck, Cedar Rapids, two granddaughters, and a brother John Fiet, San Diego, Calif.
Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, with Leonard Stock, Elmer Kewley, Paul Sherman, Willard Halverson, Phillip Sandbeck and Martin Opfer serving as pallbearers.
Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
