Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from the United Evangelical Church here for Mrs. Arthur Magnusson, 38, who passed away Thursday evening following a years illness. She underwent surgery at Rochester about a year ago and her death was not unexpected.
As Olga Adele Stehr she was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stehr at Caledonia, Minn. August 21, 1928 and after attending school in New Albin was graduated from Waukon High School in 1946. On April 5, 1947 she was united in marriage to Arthur Magnusson of Lansing at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin and has since made her home in Lansing where she was prominently active in the community, church and social affairs until her health failed..
Besides her bereft husband she is survived by four children, Kenneth, Linda, Lauri and Kevin, her mother, Mrs. Adele Travis and brother Kermit Stehr, of Lansing and a brother, Harry Travis of Bellevue. Her father preceded her in death.
Mrs. Magnusson was a member of the E.U.B. Church, and it's W.S.W.S. where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was a past officer of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Eastern Star and past president of local and county unit American Legion Auxiliary.
Rev. Paul Stevens, resident pastor of E.U.B. church officiated at the services and said the final prayers at the graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery where interment was made. Soloist was Mrs. Donald Dee and organist Mary Halverson. Serving as casket bearers were Donald and Kenneth Leppert, Frederick and Bernard Steiber, James N. Gruber and Donald Dee.
