Word was received here Monday of the passing of James I. Shepherd in his home in Los Angeles, Calif., on Sunday. He was about 75 years old and is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Price, of Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Shepherd, brother of Hugh Shepherd of this city, and of the late Wm. Shepherd, was for many years an attorney here and for two terms, from 1900 to 1902, mayor of Postville. His wife was a daughter of S.S. Powers, a local attorney and also a former mayor of this city.
