Helen V. Christensen, 84, of Harpers Ferry and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 14, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., of natural causes. Private committal services will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Helen was born July 27, 1918, in Calgary, Canada, the daughter of Sam P. and Carrie M. (Johnson) Christensen. She owned and operated restaurants in the Cedar Falls and Waverly areas until moving to Harpers Ferry. Survivors include one brother, Bernhardt Christensen of Calgary, and a sister, Marlys Wagner of Spring Green, Minn. She was preceded in death by two brother, Arthur and Marvin Christensen, and a sister, Gladys Anderson.
