Edward J. Gage, 74, of Lansing, died Thursday, February 20, 2003, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A memorial service was held Monday, February 24 at Kerndt Brothers Community Center. Edward was born November 23, 1928, in Minneiska, Minn., to John and Violet (Putman) Gage. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded a Purple Heart and an Honorable Discharge. On September 12, 1953, he married Patricia Dzwonkowski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Winona, Minn. He worked at J.F. Brennan of La Crosse, Wis., until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Roxanne (Ron) Smerud; five sons, Thomas (Sue), John, Tim (Robin), and Greg (Angie), all of Lansing, and Edward Jr. of Lake Geneva, Wis.; three sisters, Bernice Heaser of Winona, Myrtle Calvey of Weaver, Minn., and Lois Fritchman of Milltown, Wis.; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by a son, Warren; two sisters, Rosalia Majerus and Rita Peters; and a brother, Eugene Gage.©Waukon Standard 2003
