Carol I. Moore, 75, of Lansing died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at her residence in Lansing. A memorial service was held Friday, April 30 at the Community Center in Lansing.
Carol I. Meyer was born December 24, 1934 at Ambrose, ND. She was the daughter of Albert and Sarah Holmes Meyer. Carol was a 1953 graduate of Waukon High School. She then attended Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. Carol served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1967. She spent the majority of her nursing career at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. She worked there for 32 years, retiring May 1, 2007. September 27, 1968 she was united in marriage to Roy J. Moore at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing.
She is survived by seven children, Bill (Edna) Wyninger of Lansing, Bill (Laurie) Moore of Lansing, Teresa Dorn of Glendale Heights, IL, Leland Moore of New Albin, Sara Peterson of Bondurant, John Moore of Ames, and Maria Moore of Lansing; one brother, David (Paula) Moore of Denver; two sisters, LaVonne (Dan) Volle of Colorado Springs, CO and Ardell (Rollin) Begalske of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Meyer of West Union.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Albert Jr., Marland, and Ferris; two sisters, Burnice and Doris; and one grandchild, Creed Moore.
The Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home of Lansing assisted the family.
