Palma Gladys A. Svendson, 80, of Spring Grove, Minn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993 in Tweeton Lutheran Health Care Center, Spring Grove, after a long illness. Graveside services and burial: 1 p.m. Monday, Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Hess of St. Mark's Lutheran church will officiate. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her sister, Esther Sunberg of Austin, Minn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Palma was born July 6, 1913, in Allamakee County, to Gilbert and Kathrina Overhaug Rud. She married Jonas Svendson on July 26, 1947, in Waterloo Ridge Lutheran church near Spring Grove, Minn. Jonas died Aug. 13, 1986. She was formerly a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
