Services for martin L. Deviney, 85, of the Ravenwood Care Center and formerly of 1635 Mitchell Ave. will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Deviney died at 2 p.m. Friday at Scholtz Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct 1, 1890 in Allamakee County, the son of Thomas and Rose Welch Deviney. He married Elizabeth Danaher at Dorchester, and she died Aug 30, 1968.

Mr. Deviney was employed by the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works until 1958 and then worked for 11 years at H & H Machine Tool Co. in Cedar Falls before retiring in 1970.

He is survived by three sons, Vernon of Hubbard; Marty, 1635 Mitchell Ave. and Ralph, Opa Locka, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Sheppek, 223 Elk Run St.; Mrs. Rose Gerhartz, 1721 Liberty St.; Mrs. Helen Klemz, 2426 E. 4th St. and Mrs. Theresa Burright of Ankeny; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, St. Cloud, Minn. and Mrs. Rose Cora of Minneapolis.

Rosary services will be at Oppold Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by the Knights of Columbus and at 7:30 p.m. Monday by the parish. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and memorials may be given to Columbus High School.
