Funeral services for Alice L. Eberling were held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Alice L. Eberling, daughter of William and Emma (Harnack) Eberling, was born January 18, 1917 in Grand Meadow Township in Clayton County, Iowa. She died Saturday, August 29, 1987 in Community Memorial Hospital at Postville, Iowa

Alice was baptized on March 21, 1917 and confirmed on March 20, 1932 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa.

She attended schools in Clayton County and was graduated from the Postville High School. In 1935 she went to work at the Variety Store in Postville and worked there for 42 years until her retirement in 1977. Alice devoted her life to caring for others.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Walter, and two sisters, Lucy Kamp and Lora Nuehring.

She is survived by one brother, Eli Eberling of Postville and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran and she was a very active member of the LCW. Alice enjoyed raising flowers, especially African Violets, and making quilts and afghans.

Casket bearers were Eddie and Thomas Kamp, Kevin, Mark, Scott and Jeff Eberling.
