A memorial service for Frances Larson was held Monday, July 2, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville, Iowa. The Rev. James Walker officiated. Inurnment was in the Grand Meadow Cemetery at Luana, Iowa. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Wilma (Pearson) Larson was born on August 9, 1914, in Postville, the daughter of Chester and Eula (Jones) Pearson. She passed away Friday, June 22, 2001, in the Northgate Care Center in Waukon, Iowa. She had reached the age of 86 years, ten months, and 13 days.

She graduated from Postville High School in 1931 and attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette. In her early years Frances enjoyed the sport of basketball, not only as an avid fan but also as a good player.

On December 21, 1932 she was united in marriage with Sydney I. Larson. This marriage was blessed with five children: Eugene, Francene, Marlene, Mary Cathrine and Spencer. Frances was later married to James R. Foster in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Frances is survived by three daughters, Francene (Merritt) Quick of Bettendorf, Iowa; Marlene (Paul) Butts of Burlington, Iowa; Mary Cathrine (Terry) Cory of Elkader, Iowa; and one son Spencer Larson of Burlington, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Eugene Larson, two sisters, Hilda (Pearson) Bruns and Mary (Pearson) White, and Sydney Larson
