Ralinda Lammert 1906-1974

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Ralinda Lammert who died at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, August 28. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.

Ralinda L. was born May 3, 1906 at Postville, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Lenth) Lammert. She was baptized June 17, 1906 in St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed September 14, 1919.

Miss Lammert lived in the Postville area on a farm until 1926 when she moved to Postville with her mother and sister. She was educated in a rural school near Postville. In town she was employed by the Farmer's Telephone Company. August 13, 1928 she began as a secretary for the interstate Power Company and remained there until her retirement May 18, 1970 having served nearly 42 years.

An active participant in civic affairs, Miss Lammert sang in the St. Paul choir for a number of years, taught Sunday school for 30 years, was a member of the LCW, chairman of the Altar Committee, chairman of the Advisory committee and for a number of years with her sister Martha, was responsible for decorating the church at Christmas. She served as president of the Hospital Auxiliary for many years, and was vice-president of the Cemetery Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Anna and Martha.

Survivors include two brothers, Edwin and Walter both of Postville, three nephews and other relatives.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
