Funeral services for Roy Leubka were held Thursday, Dec. 27 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Reverend Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Roy Henry Leubka, son of Louis and Anna (Stopperan) Leubka, was born Aug. 18, 1906 in Bloomfield Township, Winneshiek County. He died Dec. 24 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

He was baptized Sept. 15, 1906 by Rev. M. O. Puhl at St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed there Sept. 5, 1920 by Rev. Schmidt. He attended the Bloomfield Township School.

Nov. 19, 1930 he was married to Viola Shafer by Rev. Van Nice at Waukon. They farmed in the Postville area all of their lives. He had also been employed as a carpenter in the last few years.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Violet, in infancy and a brother, Clarence.

Surviving besides his wife, Viola, is a daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Merlin Hansmeier) of Postville; two grandchildren, Wayne Hansmeier and Beverly Schnuelle, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Elmer and Merle, both of Postville and a sister, Hazel Backhaus of Waukon.

Pall bearers were Leland Lubka, Lester Leubka, David Leubka, Roger Grotegut, Wilson Wilke and Louis Lenth.
