A Memorial Service for Mrs. D.E. Tinker was held Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Gary Catterson officiated. The organist was Beverly Bacon, with special music by Christine Enyart. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Inurnment was in the Elgin Cemetery at Elgin, Iowa.

Lois Lee (nee Lehman) Tinker, the only child of Leslie G. Lehman and Dora (nee Matthews) Lehman, was born August 21, 1913 in Farmersburg, Iowa. She passed away Monday, January 13, 2003 in the Prairie Memorial Hospital at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She had reached the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 22 days. She graduated from the Elgin High School and went on to Iowa State Teachers College where she graduated in 1932. Lois taught elementary school for seven years in Farmersburg, Fairbank, McGregor, and Anamosa, Iowa.

On August 30, 1940 Lois was married to Delos E. Tinker in the Methodist Church at Elgin, Iowa. To this union three children were born. They lived in Elgin early in their marriage and moved to Postville in 1951, where they lived for many years. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. The last several years they have lived in Monona. Lois enjoyed her family, reading, and traveling. She especially enjoyed the many winters spent on South Padre Island, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, her children, Alan Tinker and wife Kathy of Plano, TX, Barbara and husband Rolf Garthus, Amherst, WI, and David Tinker, Roswell, GA; four grandchildren, Mark Tinker (fiance Paige Collard), Plano, TX, Ann Marie Tinker, Plano, TX, Eric (Julie) Garthus, Greenville, WI, and Ben Garthus, Boulder, CO; and one great grandchild, Luke Garthus, Greenville, WI. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marian Tinker, Three Rivers, MI, and Lillian Tinker, Des Moines, and seven nieces and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
