Myrtle M. Binner, age 95 of La Crosse, Wis., peacefully passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003, at the St. Joseph Care Center, La Crosse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, Marian Chapel. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements. Myrtel M. Schwartzhoff was born January 26, 1907, in Dorchester to Joseph W. and Margaret A. (Waters) Schwartzhoff. As a child, she moved with her family to Cook's Valley, Kellogg, Minn., in 1926. On November 24, 1926, she married Martin H. Binner in Wabasha. They moved to La Crosse in 1937. Myrtel is survived by two daughters, Grace (Philip) Smith of Holmen, Wis., and Bridget (Darryl) White of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Leona Schad of Plainview, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Betty Binner of Wabasha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, in 1981; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
