Robert E. Gould, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ace Gould, was born May 17, 1874 in Wisconsin. He passed away Wednesday, February 27, 1957 at the Palmer Hospital in West Union, at the age of 82 years.

On May 3, 1906 he was married at Mason City to Helen Louise Tageson who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Helen Louise) Thoreson of Waterloo; three sons, Louis A. and William Henry, both of Miami, Florida and Ralph Marvin of Fayette; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Gould was a barber in Luana, Waukon and in South Dakota. He lived in Fayette the last five years, spending the winters in Florida.

He was a former member of the Masonic fraternity and the Woodman lodge.

Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
