Mrs. Troendle's Rites Held In Lycurgus Church

A mass of Requiem was held Wednesday, Dec.17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus for Mrs. Bendedict Gertrude Troendle. The Rev. Robert Ferring of Dubuque nephew of the deceased and the Rev. Raymond Duffy officiated. Interment was in St. Mary's Church Cemetery.

Robert Curtis, John Hammel, Robert Welch, Ray Sweeney, Francis Plein, and Cletus Rooney were pallbearers.

Mrs. Troendle died Saturday, Dec.14 at Waukon Veteran Memorial Hospital. Gertruce Haas was born July 27, 1895 and was the daughter of Elizabeth and Ben Haas. She attended grade school at St. Patrick's school in Waukon.

In 1919, she married Benedict Troendle in St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus. He survives as do two sons, Walter and Raymond. Six grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Leo (Florence) Ferring of Waukon and a brother, Joseph Haas of Waukon also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. John Dougherty and Mrs. Louis Zieman.

Mrs. Troendle was a member of St. Mary's Church, Order of Foresters, and St. Mary's Rosary Society. She lived her entire life in the Lycurgus area with exception of a few years when she lived in Luana.

Bakke and Hanson was in charge of arrangements.
