Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Salem United Church of Christ for Albert Carl Grotegut, 69, who died Saturday in the Waukon Hospital. The Rev. Walter Clausing officiated.

Born August 4, 1903 in Winneshiek county, he was a son of Fred and Minnie Stock Grotegut. Mr. Grotegut received his education in the area schools, was a member of Salem church and had lived and farmed in the area all his life.

December 28, 1927 he was married to Ruby Luebka in Allamakee County. Mrs. Grotegut survives, also a daughter Darlene, Mrs. Robert Eberling and a son Eugene, both of Postville and three grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Henning, Postville and Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Herman, Waukon, also survive.

Preceding him in death besides his parents, were his brothers and sisters, Simon, John, Martha, Mabel and Lydia.

Interment was in the Salem Church Cemetery.
