Louise Zieman Services Held

Rites Conducted at Holy Family Church

Requiem mass was celebrated for Louis F. Zieman, 72, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Tuesday, with Father Vincent C. Merfeld officiating.

Alter boys were Bob Brunson and Tom McCauley.

Mr. Zieman, of 204 15th N.E., died at a local nursing home Saturday evening following a lingering illness. He was a former employee of Jacob E. Decker and Sons, and had resided in Mason City for the past 27 years. He was born in Caledonia, Minn., May 11, 1877.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, 2 sons, Benedict and Theodore, Mason City, and 2 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. T.W. Walsh, St. Paul, Minn. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, a daughter, parents, 3 brothers, and a sister.

Attending the services from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schultz, Mrs. Frank Zieman, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hansmeier, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ferring, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Troendle, John Dougherty, and Joseph Haas, all of Waukon, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Griffith, Clear Lake.

The Holy Family Guild said the Rosary at 4 p.m. Monday at the Patterson-James Chapel led by Mrs. George Platts; the Foresters read the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. led by Mrs. Albert Lansing; and the parish Rosary was said at 8 p.m. led by Father John T. Reed.

Pallbearers were Ben Brasser, Leon Frost, P.J. Lauer, Arnold Griffith, Richard Luse, and John Carney. Interment was a St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. The Patterson-James Funeral Home in charge.
