Funeral Services for Mrs. Harry Gass

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Gass were held in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Thursday, December 23, 1971, at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dick Harberts officiating. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Margaret Leui, daughter of John and Milda Sonnkalb Leui, was born in Grand Meadow Township April 5, 1906. She spent her childhood on her father's farm and attended Postville schools where she graduated in 1924. She became a practical nurse after graduation and for a number of years worked at the Postville Hospital and the Clayton County Home.

On June 28, 1933, she married to Harold (Harry) Gass at Elkader, Iowa. They lived on a farm south of Postville for nineteen years retiring in 1955 and moved to Postville to make their home.

Margaret was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, and active in the woman's work of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eva; and two brothers, Homer and Howard.

She is survived by her husband, Harold, a foster daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Ramona) Schroeder of Ossian, two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Ora) Hoffbauer of Harlingen, Texas, Mrs. Jessie Dittmer of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and a number of nieces and nephews.
