Marguerite Jean (MJ) Falk, 82, of Lansing died Friday, December 4, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12 at Thornton Heights in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Thornton Heights Assisted Living, 1329 Main Street, Lansing, IA 52151, in Marguerite's name.
She was born to William and Anna (Weigel) Padot January 20, 1927 in Toledo, OH and graduated from Milan High School in Milan, MI. She married Leo Falk August 10, 1946 and they lived together in Milan, MI before relocating to Ypsilanti Township in 1961.
Marguerite was a life member and served as president of the Milan Jaycee Auxiliary. She loved the time spent with her husband on their boat. She traveled with her husband and fondly remembered the time they spent together in Australia and Japan. Marguerite enjoyed her card clubs, playing golf with the Green Oaks Ladies League, and her beloved dachshund.
Marguerite is survived by two children, William Falk of Ypsilanti Township and Deborah (William) Hiller, of Cedar Rapids; her half-brother, Charles Padot; and her granddaughters, Lainey Hiller and Jesse Garrett.
She spent the last years in Lansing, where she was warmly embraced by the Thornton Heights community.
The Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted the family.
