Last Rites For Charles Kaeser

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. from Martin Brothers Funeral Home in Waukon for Charles Abraham Kaeser, 82, of Makee Township who died Wednesday, Sept.6 in Good Samaritan Center in Waukon.

The Rev. William Tjaden conducted the services and interment was in Oakland Cemetery. Ray Schneider, Glen Rice, Ralph Osterholz, Paul Schneider, Don Rice, and Ellsworth Rice were pallbearers.

Charles Kaeser was born Oct.15, 1884 in Waukon and was the son of John and Harriet Deremore Kaeser. He lived in Allamakee County all of his life and was a farmer until he retired.

He was educated in the local schools and Feb.2, 1915 married Kathryn Donnegan in Chicago, Ill. She died Dec.22, 1964.

Survivors are his children; Charles of Santa Ana, Calif.; Gordon and John of Waukon; Mrs. Fred (Harriet) Prendergast, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. E.C.(Edith)Reck of Websters Grove, Mo.; and Walter of Waterville. Fifteen grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Walton of Russell, Minn. also survive.

Two brothers, Dan and Sam, and two sisters, Ruby and Sophia, preceded him in death. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
