Mrs. B. Haas, 85, Dies Wednesday

The death of Mrs. Ben Haas, 85, occurred Wednesday at the farm home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben Troendle of Makee Township following an extended period of failing health.

As Elizabeth Schreiber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schreiber, she spent her life in this vicinity. May 17, 1892, her marriage to Ben Haas took place at St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Three daaughters and a son survive, Mrs. Ben Troendle(Gertrude), and Joseph Haas, Makee Township, Mrs. Louis Zieman(Mary), Mason City, and Mrs. Leo Ferring(Florence), Union Prairie Township. Also two sisters, Mrs. Fred Haas and Mrs. Ernest Dee, Makee Township. Another daughter, Mrs. John Dougherty, Makee, preceded her in death. Mr. Haas died Aug. 28, 1945.

Burial will take place at Lycurgus in charge of Bakke-Hanson Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

The funeral mass will be sung at St. Mary's Church, Lycurgus, Monday at 10 a.m.
