Reuben M. Klocke was born in Ludlow Township on the farm of his parents, Fred and Pauline Adam Klocke, on June 21, 1907. He was a farmer, and he lived his entire life in Allamakee County. He died Tuesday, Feb. 25 at his home in Waukon.

Reuben attended Ludlow #6 Elementary and Waukon High School. On Nov. 16, 1933, he married Margaret Lena Miene in Postville. He ran a general farming operation with some dairy, chickens, hogs and crops through most of his active farming life. He also enjoyed fishing and visiting with people.

Survivors include a son, Merlyn (Alice) Klocke of Waterloo; 2 daughters, Betty (Curtis) Gilbertson of Waterloo and Ruth Wicks of Decorah; 7 grandchildren: Nancy McCready, Bradley Klocke, Doug Gilbertson, Debra Reinard, Warren, Shane and Ryan Wicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret (July 13, 1977); his brothers Albert, Clarence and Elmer "Ole" Klocke; and a sister Mabel Brittain.

The funeral service was held at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Rev. James Elvig officiating. Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery. Casket bearers were Milo, Robert and Wayne Kloke, Doug Gilbertson, James and Larry Klocke.
