Funeral services for Bernice C. Klocke, 81, of Waukon, were held Friday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, rural Waukon. Rev. James Elvig officiated. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. Martin's Funeral home, Waukon was in charge of arrangements.

Bernice Christina Klocke, daughter of William and Martha (Klein) Nolte was born March 20, 1909 in Ludlow Township, Allamakee County. She died June 18, 1990 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

She received her education in rural school, Ludlow #7, Waukon. She was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. She also was active in Bethlehem Presbyterian UPW, and also taught Sunday School there for many years.

She was married to Elmer "Ole" Klocke on November 30, 1927 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, rural Postville. She was a lifetime resident of Ludlow Township in Allamakee County.

Surviving are a son, James Klocke of Postville; 2 grandchildren, Gary of Grimes, IA and Barbara of Altoona, IA; 2 sisters, Mrs. Calvin (Marian) Nolting of Waukon; Mrs. Roy (Lorna) of Bradley of Liberty, IL; and 2 brothers, Leo Nolte of Iverness, FL and Duane Nolte of Cleveland, TN.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Adam, and a brother, Lester Nolte.

Pallbearers were Clifton Christianson, Milo Klocke, Bennie Fiet, Leo Klocke, Clifford Held and Ronald Adam.
