Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 14, at Schutte Funeral Home and St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Theodore Klemme, 79, who passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rudy Martens, Sunday, March 11, 1951

The rites were in charge of Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Theodore Robert Klemme, son of Conrad Klemme and Caroline Griebe Klemme, was born April 30, 1871, at Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.

Mr. Klemme spent his boyhood in Wisconsin. When about 26 years of age he came to Iowa and it was here that he spent the remainder of his life.

Mr. Klemme was united in marriage with Dora Brockmeyer on November 14, 1901. To this union three sons and one daughter were born, all of whom survive the passing of their father. Mrs. Klemme preceded her husband in death.

Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Klemme lived in Postville for about 12 years. They then moved to the farm northwest of Postville, where he made his home until 1943, when he retired to Postville. Since May of 1950 he has made his home with his daughter. Mr. Klemme was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Mr. Klemme is survived by his four children, three sons and one daughter: Emil Klemme of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Leslie Klemme and Arnold Klemme of Postville, and Mildred, Mrs. Rudy Martens, of Monona; three sisters: Mathilda Blanke and Lora Gaffron, both of Plymouth, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Ida Schnuelle of Portland, Oregon; two brothers: Guido Klemme of Plymouth, Wisconsin, and Anton Klemme of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Klemme was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
