Joseph L. O'Hara

The death of Joseph L. O'Hara occurred at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, on Friday morning, July 12. Mr. O'Hara had been a resident there since September, 1967. Funeral services were held Monday, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lycurgus, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Cletus Hawes of Postville, officiated.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Mr. O'Hara was born January 31, 1892 in Allamakee County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James O'Hara. He farmed in Allamakee county and more recently in Winneshiek county, rural Decorah. He was married to the former Catherine Ryan, who survives with five sons and three daughters. They are: Robert O'Hara, Postville; John O'Hara, Decorah; Kenneth O'Hara, Waukon; James O'Hara, Riverdale, Illinois; and Donald O'Hara, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Dorothy Zeimet, Lansing; Mrs. Frances Schwartz, Chicago, Illinois; and Mrs. Catherine Scudella, Oaklawn, Illinois. There are a number of grandchildren and one brother, James O'Hara of Harpers Ferry.
