Last Rites for Mrs. O'Hare

A mass of requiem was offered Friday, Feb 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church in Waukon for Mrs. Maude M. O'Hare of Waukon. The Rev. Florian Schmidt was the officiating priest and interment was in St.Mary's cemetery in Hanover. Vivian Zoll, Jack Marsden, Vernon Gallagher, Bud Marsden, Donald Ryder, and Tommy O'Hare Jr., were casket bearers. Mrs. O'Hare died Wednesday, Feb 18 in Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital where she was a patient for five weeks following a heart attack. She was born Maude Marsden and was a daughter of Matthew James and Mary E. Jones Marsden. She was born Jan 21, 1895 in Waukon. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1917 and taught in the rural schools of Allamakee County. Nov. 27, 1918 she married Jerry V. O'Hare in St. Mary's Church in Hanover. He preceded her in death. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Loretta) Snitker of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Richard (Mary) Hermanson of Dorchester, and a son William V. O'Hare of Cedar Rapids. Fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and four brothers Jim, Frank, Art, and Bert Marsden, all of Waukon also survive. A sister Mrs. Dwight (Jessie) Johnson and a brother Lou Marsden preceded her in death. Mrs. O'Hare was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Waukon. Bakke and Hanson was in charge of funeral arrangements.
