Mrs. L.A. Jones Dies at Seattle, Wash.

The family of Mrs. L.A. Jones and her many acquaintances hereabouts were shocked and deeply saddened Tuesday when news was received of her death which occurred at the home of her son Lloyd at Seattle, Wash., where she spent the past several months. Her health had been impaired for nearly two years, but news came from the west this summer that she was improving. As Margaret Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller, early settlers in Union Prairie township where she was born 65 years ago and this vicinity had since been her home. On November 14, 1900, she was united in marriage with Lute A. Jones by the late Rev R.L. VanNice. They established their home here where Mr. Jones was engaged in the barber business for thirty years. His death occurred on May 29, 1930. Three sons survive to mourn the passing of a beloved mother, Lloyd, Seattle, Earl and Louis, Waukon, the latter serving as deputy county engineer. There is also an only brother, Bruce Miller of this city. The remains are expected to arrive here Friday and will be taken to Martins funeral home. Plans for the funeral services are not completed.

Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. L.A. Jones, who died Tuesday night at the home of her son, Lloyd, Seattle, Wash., were held from the Martin Brothers funeral home to the Presbyterian church here Saturday afternoon. The Rev. August Grossheim, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ernest Dee, John Blegen, Sam Kaesar, John C. Ludeking, John Hager, and Ed Roggensack.

She is survived by three sons, Lloye, at whose home in Seattle she was visiting when she died; Earl and Louis, both of Waukon. A brother, Bruce Miller, Waukon, also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1930.
