JAMES DONOVAN.
News of the death of James Donovan which took place about three o’clock last Wednesday afternoon at the Neil Coyle home in the southwest part of the city, caused considerable surprise as the deceased had been about town during the forenoon. Death was caused by apoplexy. James Donovan was 62 years old. He was born in New Jersey and came to this county with his parents in early days, settling on Silber Creek. He never married and is survived by his brother M.F. Donovan, living on the old home farm. For a number of years the decease has worked as a stonemason and was well known to most of our readers. He took a lively interest in public affairs and by reading newspapers kept himself well posted. He was honest, goodhearted and cheerful and had many friends. The funeral was held Saturday morning from the home of his brother in French Creek Township, burial taking place in the Lycurgus cemetery.

From my parents collection.
