Mrs. Susan Bresnahan, who has been in ill health the past three years with dropsy, died at her home in the city last Thursday morning.
Mrs. Bresnahan was born September 9, 1868 at Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mockley. She came to Allamakee County with her parents when a child and they moved to a farm in French Creek. In 1886 she married John Bresnahan at the Hanover Catholic church. They made their home on a farm in Hanover Township. Mr. Bresnahan died about eight years ago, and a few years later the family moved to the city.
She is survived by her two daughters Mrs. James Cunningham of the city, Mrs. Frank Speigler of Union City Township, and seven sons, John, Leslie, Andrew, Leo, Frank, Clement and Cletus all of whom reside in this locality.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s church. A requiem mass was celebrated by the Reverend John C. ______ and burial was made at ____________ cemetery.(The article was torn so couldn’t read the priest or the cemetery. She was buried at the Hanover cemetery.)
