Services At St. Pat’s For Nell Bresnahan
Funeral services for Nellie G. Bresnahan, 82, Waukon, who died Friday, Feb 18 at Veterans Memorial hospital in Waukon, were held Monday, Feb. 21 at 9a.m. from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Roach officiated, and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

She was born Nov. 5, 1900 I Waukon, the daughter of Michael and Ellen Sullivan Donovan. She and Andy Bresnahan were married Feb. 3, 1920 at Lycurgus. He died January of 1971.

Surviving are sons Lawrence of Tomah, WI and Bill of Waukon, and a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Fahey, also of Waukon; 13 grandchildren and a dozen great-grandchildren. A brother George of St. Paul, MN and a sister Mrs. Cora Gavin of Waukon also survive. Preceding her in death were the following brothers and sisters: Charlie, Margaret Howes, Elizabeth Haas, Laura Bresnahan, and Moll Devitt, all of Waukon; Jim, Dave, Bill and Jerry of St. Paul, and Tommy of Rochester, MN.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s church, and casket bearers were Dan Donovan, Dan, Bernard and Charles Bresnahan, Don Cunningham and Tim Fahey.

Hanson funeral home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
