Msgr. Frederic Heles officiated at last rites at St. Patrick church Saturday for Andrew Lawrence Bresnahan, who died Jan. 21 following a four and a half year illness. Diane Fahey, a granddaughter, played the organ at the funeral rites.

Bakke and Hanson was in charge of the funeral and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Heim, Delbert Murphy, Art Sickles, Karl Moe, John Munz, and Delbert Russell.

Six nephews were active pallbearers; Danny Donovan, John Bresnahan, John Cunningham, Reber Bresnahan, Danny Bresnahan and Bernard Bresnahan.

Long associated with Bresnahan Construction Company, Bresnahan was a native of Allamakee County. He was born in Hanover Township, son of John and Susan Bresnahan, and had farmed in Silver Creek area before going into the construction business in 1925.
He was married Feb. 3, 1920 at Lycurgus to Nellie Donovan, who remains. The children are Lawrence Bresnahan of Des Moines, William of Waukon, and Mrs. Kenneth Fahey of rural Waukon.

There are 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A sister and two brothers remaining are Mrs. Frank Spiegler and Frank Bresnahan, both of Waukon and Clem Bresnahan of Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Deceased brothers and sisters are Mrs. James Cunningham, John, Leo, Leslie and Cletus Bresnahan.

Mr. Bresnahan was member of St. Patrick Catholic church.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Clem Bresnahan of Prairie du Chien, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Bresnahan of Dubuque, Mrs. John Meier and Arthur Bresnahan of Madison Wis.; George, Bill and Joe Donovan and Mrs. Davie Donovan, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Donovan, all of St. Paul; Jack and Danny Bresnahan of Clinton, Francis Regan, Mrs. Loretta Hancock Mrs. Maier and son all of Waterloo and several friends from Lansing, Dorchester and Decorah.

Waukon, Iowa—Andrew Bresnahan, 74, of Waukon, retired contractor, died Thursday, Jan 21, in a local hospital after a long illness.

Services have been set tentatively at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bakke-Hanson Funeral Home Friday afternoon.

He is survived by his widow, the former Nellie Donovan; two sons, Lawrence of Des Moines and William at home; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Fahey of rural Waukon; one sister Mrs. Frank Spiegler of Waukon; two brothers, Frank of Waukon and Clem of Prairie du Chien; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
