E. Lorraine Staub
Evelyn Lorraine Kelly Fox Staub was born July 20, 1915 in Rossville, the daughter of Earl R. and Nora (Pettit) Kelly. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1932 and attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque. Lorraine married Stanley Fox February 28, 1938 in Waukon. Later she married George Nicholas Staub December 30, 1945 in New Orleans. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Federal Land Bank Association in Waukon and Decorah. In addition to Iowa, she lived in Washington, Michigan, Georgia and Florida, but has been a resident of Covington, LA for the past 30 years.
Lorraine was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waukon and donated to various non-profits throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time as a freelance writer and collecting and sending birthday cards.
Lorraine went to be with the Lord Friday, March 6, 2009 in Louisiana, at the age of 93. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Cassidy of Franklinton, LA; three grandchildren, Kelly, Alta and Fritz; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Callie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Stanley and George; and a sister, Gwen Slitor.
Inurnment was at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, with Martin Funeral Home handling arrangements.
