FRED KUGEL
Fred W. Kugel died July 13, 1987 at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. Rev. James Elvig officiated. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery, rural Postville. Martin's Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Fred W. Kugel, son of Fred and Sophie (Stock) Kugel was born December 12, 1898 in Ludlow Township. He was baptized February 19, 1899 and confirmed March 16, 1918. He attended Ludlow country schools, Waukon High School and Cedar Rapids Business College: Commercial Dept.
He married Helen Bechtel January 5, 1927 at the Bethlehem parsonage.
He was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and deacon. He was a Farm Bureau member.
Surviving are his wife Helen and a sister, Mrs. Mary Kruger, Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Carl, Edward, Elmer, Robert, Johann and Clarence and a sister, Martha.
Pallbearers were Bennie Fiet, Clifton Christianson, Milo Kloke, Leo Klocke, Marlin Pausch and Robert Stock.

Fred W. Kugel, 88, of Waukon died Monday, July 13, 1987, at the LaCrosse (Wis.) Lutheran Hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, rural Waukon, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.
Mr. Kugel, who was born Dec. 12, 1898, in Allamakee County, married Helen Bechtel Jan. 5, 1927, in Allamakee County. He farmed in rural Waukon until he retired.
Surviving besides his wife is a sister, Mrs. Mary Kruger of Cedar Rapids.

Fred W. Kugel was the son of Fred and Sophie (Stock) Kugel. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Carl, Edward, Elmer, Robert, Johann, and Clarence Kugel and a sister, Martha Kugel. He was a farmer in the Ludlow area.
