11 August 1868Dead Body Found -- In the Mississippi river at LaFayette, Allamakee county, on the 9th of August, 1868. The body was that of a German, about 5 feet 8 inches high, and supposed by letters and papers found on the body, to be Henry Nottbahm of Brownsville, Red Wing or LaCrosse. The body was secured and buried under my direction near the place where found. $19.30 were found on the body.
