Philip H. Kramer

Philip H. Kramer, 60, of Lansing died suddenly at his home Tuesday April 21, 2009. Graveside services with military honors were held Friday, April 24 at Dickson Cemetery in Lynxville, WI.

Philip was born August 29, 1948 in Prairie du Chien, WI to Duane and Darlene (Benhart) Kramer. He attended school in Prairie du Chien and graduated from Seneca High School. He served in the Army from August 1967 to March of 1969, serving in the 1st Air Cav. in Viet Nam. He married Janice Sutton November 4, 1969 in Seneca. He worked as a self-employed auto mechanic in the area and later worked for Petrolane Gas Co. in Prairie du Chien for 10 years. Later he worked as a lock operator at the Lynxville Lock and Dam for 18 years.

Philip is survived by his wife and friend of 40 years, Janice; three children, Paul (Marlene) Kramer of Prairie du Chien, WI, Wendy (Shay) Gokey of Seneca, WI, and Jill (Jared) Soper of Waukon; five grandchildren, Ryan and Sierra Kramer, Megan and Levi Gokey, and Brent Ziegler; siblings Linda (David) Davidson of Wauzeka, WI, Ray (Becky) Kramer, Marilyn (Norman) Balk, and Duane, Jr. (Peggy) Kramer, all of Eastman, WI, Jim (Marilyn) Kramer of Marshfield, WI, and Chris Svalina and Gordon Kramer, both of Bagley, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis; a sister, Tamara Martin; and an infant grandson.
