Patrick William Crowley

Patrick "Pat" William Crowley passed away in his home in Avondale, AZ April 13, 2009 after a valiant and courageous battle with lung cancer. Memorial Visitation and Service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at the Town House in New Albin Saturday, May 2 from 1-3 p.m.

Pat was born in Evergreen Park, IL November 3, 1943 to Alvin W. Crowley and Mary Catherine Crowley. He went to school at St. Mary Magdalene in Chicago, IL and later at New Albin and graduated in Villa Grove, IL in 1961. He completed two years of college at Southern Illinois University.

Pat married Margaret Ann Nelson from Lansing March 14, 1964. They had two children together, Michael Alan (Sherie) of Waukesha, WI and Bridget Cristina (Mint) Cook of Lisbon, OH. He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL and later in manufacturing plastic containers at Continental Can Company in Illinois, New Jersey and West Virginia. He also worked at Kleen Brite in Rochester, NY for a year. Pat and Marg then moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he worked at Aquapore Moisture Systems until he was 63. He was semi-retired when he began selling health insurance for a brief time.

Pat was an avid golfer and football fan for the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame. He enjoyed family vacations and get-togethers, billiards and playing cards.

His greatest accomplishment was in raising his two wonderful children and having a loving relationship with his wife, Margaret, for more than 45 years. Pat was a proud father to Michael and Bridget and he cherished his grandchildren Andy, Marissa, Katie and MaryQuinn.

He had two brothers, James D. (Jeannine) Crowley of Elk Grove, CA and Michael A. Crowley of West Des Moines; and three sisters, Joan (Donald) Cieslak of Wisconsin, Marilyn (Steve) Leonard of Tuscola, IL and Mary Ellen (Tim) McNelis of Faribault, MN. Pat loved his brothers and sisters and the close bond he shared with them throughout his life. Pat was preceded in death by his father (Alvin), mother (Mary), and sister Joan.
