A.B. Stock's Rites Thursday

August Benjamin Stock, 87, member of an Allamakee county pioneer family, died Sunday morning at his home in Makee township after a ten-month illness. His funeral will be from Martin's and Zion Reformed and Evangelical church Tuesday afternoon, and Rev. Mr. Reuben Grossheusch of Melbourne will officiate, due to the fact that the regular pastor, Mr. Hennig, is on vacation. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Stock, who was well-known throughout the county, was born Sept. 1, 1866 in Makee township, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stock, and spent his life time here. He was married march 19, 1895 to Ella Rueggenmeier, and they farmed in Allamakee county during their marriage. She died in 1918 and since that time Mr. Stock has been with his only son, Harvey. A daughter, Ruth, died at the age of seven years. Remaining are five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two brothers, T.B. Stock of Decorah and Louis of this community.
