HOLLIS WRIGHT ENYART

Funeral services for Hollis Enyart, 82, were held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1984 at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. The Rev. Reuben Tjaden officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Hollis Wright Enyart, son of Wright and Ellen (McWilliams) Enyart, was born March 28, 1902 at Lime Springs. He died Monday, Oct. 1 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

As a child he lived on farms in the Lime Springs, North Dakota and Postville areas. June 14, 1928 he was married to Velma Christofferson at Waukon. Three children were born to this union.

Enyart hauled cream until he was hired to operate a local farm. In 1956 they moved to Postville where he was employed at Postville Implement. When he retired in 1967 he continued to work part-time at the Community Presbyterian Church and then for the Schutte Funeral Home.

He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma, who died August 27, 1972, two grandchildren in infancy, two brothers, James and Russell and two sisters, Ethel Powell and Flossie Folsom.

Surviving are a son, Robert, Postville, two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Myrten Strong), Carmicheal, CA and Ellen Schroeder, Ames; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Leo, Mesa, AZ.
