Herman H. Harris Dies at Independence.
Following a protracted period of physical decline, Herman H. Harris of this city passed away on Friday, March 26, 1926, at Independence, where he had been a patient at the state hospital for a little more than two weeks, the final summons coming with a suddenness that was a surprise and a shock to both his family and his friends.

He was a lifelong resident of this city and locality and was known to all as a quiet and peaceable citizen, honorable and upright in his dealings with his fellow men and a good husband and father. Besides his widow he is survived by five sisters - Mrs. Bertha J. Orr, Mrs. Charity G. Webster and Mrs. Bessie A. Beucher, all of Postville; Mrs. Edith Churchill of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Edna E. Oehring of McGregor.

The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran church at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, Rev. R. Franklin Galloway of the Community Presbyterian church officiating, assisted by Rev. E.T. Finck of St. Paul's church. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
