Services Held Saturday for Celia Ryan

Funeral services for Celia A. Ryan, 97, of Waukon, were held Saturday, Jan 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic church. She died Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Thorton Manor home in Lansing.

The Rev. Mike Tauke officiated and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Pallbearers were John Campbell, Don Cunningham, William Fahey and Keith Fahey. Hanson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Born April 9, 1883 in Hanover, Celia Ryan was the daughter of John and Anastasia (O’Brien) Cunningham. She lived in Waukon, Frankville and Hanover and went to Thorton Manor in September of 1977. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s church. She was married to Joseph F. Ryan. He died in 1951.

She is survived by a daughter Margaret of Clear Lake; three sons, James of Lansing, Leo of Lakewood, CO and Joseph of Pleasant Hill, CA; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters and 11 brothers.
