Prominent Postville
Businessman Dies
After Year's Illness

POSTVILLE —William C. Thoma, 65, prominent Postville businessman for the past 50 years, died at the Postville hospital early Wednesday morning, following a year's illness from a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Schutte funeral home with the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Pauls Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in the Postville cemetery where Brotherly Love Lodge A. F. and A. M. No. 304 will conduit Mason services at the graveside.
Mr. Thomo was born in Postville May .8. 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thoma, who were among the first pioneer settlers of Postville. He received his education in the Postville schools and in 1893 became associated in the drug business with his bother, John. He was married Nov. 22, 1900, to Emma Senholz. In 1914 he entered the retail grocery and restaurant business with his brother, Fred, and his father. Which business he continued to the time of his death. He was a member of the Masonic order, the A. O. U. W. and of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife: a son : Harlan, Des Moines attorney; a ; daughter. Mrs. Delores Scholtes of Sioux City: two brothers, John and Fred of Postville: a sister Anna of Postville, and four grandchildren.
