NEW ALBIN, Iowa---Mrs. Walter Middendorf, 77, of New Albin died Monday, July 22, in a La Crosse hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St.Peter's United Church of Christ at New Albin, Rev. Clyde Lee officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Potter-Haugen Funeral Home in Caledonia, Wednesday afternoon and evening and at the church Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.
Mrs. Middendorf, the former Ida Rober, was born April 14, 1891, in Tulare, S.D., to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rober. She married Walter Middendorf at Tulare Oct. 29, 1919. The couple spent their married life in the New Albin area, moving to the village in 1949 following retirement.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Junior, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Bernet (Gladys) Richards and Mrs. Cleon (Iris) Sires of New Albin; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Emma Rober of Long Beach, Calif. She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
