August Batteen

CALEDONIA, Minn. (Special) — August Batteen, 87, rural Caledonia, died Friday at Caledonia Community Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Batteen, born In Allamakee County, Iowa, had been living with his son, Edward.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fred Schendal, Sparta, Wis., and Mrs. Henry Retlenger, Waukon, Iowa; two grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Blaschke Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at the |St. John's Catholic Church; in Caledonia, the Rev. T, F.. Duare officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Albin, Iowa.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday and the Rosary will he said at 8 p.m.
