Cecelia Bechtel Is Taken By Death
CENTER TOWNSHIP LADY DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS AT AGE OF EIGHTY-THREE
Miss Cecelia Bechtel, 83, passed away Sunday at the Bakkum Clinic, where she had been taken care of for some months. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
Cecelia Bechtel was born January 22, 1856, in Center township, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bechtel. She was educated in the schools of Allamakee county; She was never married.
She leaves to mourn her death two brothers and one sister, Joe Bechtel and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman of Church, and Matthew Bechtel of Lansing.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon-at 2:00 o'clock from the Congregational church at Church. The Reverend F. Ludvig of Postville officiated in the absence of the regular pastor, Reverend Henry C. Marks. Interment was in the Lansing Ridge cemetery.
The casket bearers were Samuel Decker, William Rissman, Theodore Gruber, Leslie Kerndt, Charles Schellhammer, Freeman Bechtel.
. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bechtel of La Crosse, and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Boos of New Hampton.
