Lansing Mourns One Prominent Physician

Dr. A.R. Fredrickson, 69, longtime physician in Lansing, Iowa died in a LaCrosse hospital Tuesday morning, Dec. 3,1957. He was Graduated from the St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1920. He interned for one year in St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, after which he located in Lansing where he has practiced continuously since that time, a period of 36 years.

In June 1924 he married to Miss Alma S. Berg, of Coon Calley, Wisconsin, a graduate nurse. Two sons were born to this union, Dr. James D., 32, a research chemist with the J.R. Reynolds Tobacco Company, in Winston-Salem, N.C. and Robert K., sales correspondent with the Square D Company in Milwaukee, Wis. In addition to his wife and sons, one brother and five sisters survive him, Fred J. Fredrickson, an attorney, Valley City, N.Dak.; Bertha and Ester Fredrickson; Olga (Mrs. Albert Smith) and Lillian (Mrs.Charles Schultz) of Seattle Washington, and Alice (Mrs. Phillip N. Wick), of Los Angeles, Calif. and one granddaughter.

Dr. Fredrickson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge of Lansing, former member of the Lansing School Board, and a member of the Lansing American Legion Post, past president of the Lansing Kiwanis Club, and a member of the American Medical Society, and of the State Medical Societies of both Iowa and Wisconsin, and was Health Officer of the city of Lansing. He was also a member of the Courtesy Staff of the St.Francis Hospital, a member of the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, and a Past President of the Allamakee County Medical Society.

Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 6th with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
